Monitoring Stocks
Monitoring calculates analysis results for all stocks or for groups of
stocks in a list that you select. You can further select the stocks to be monitored by sector or industry classification by
specifying a GICS (Global
Industry Classification Standard) number. Lists can contain the stocks in an index, an exchange, or custom entries in a list that
you created.
UNATTENDED DAILY MONITORING
Monitoring can also be set up to run automatically following the unattended update of daily information. Each strategy is
recalculated for each stock, and buy/sell recommendations are reported. Stop values to place for the following day are also calculated.
When you start Market Reflex, all the results are ready for you.
STRATEGY CALCULATION
RESULTS
The strategy calculation
results are reported in the Strategies table shown below and can be viewed or printed in a report ranked by profitability.
Similar tables report current trade signals and calculated stop prices to set for the next trading day. These tables can also be
printed or viewed in a report.

RetOnUt%
is the annualized percentage return on capital utilized. See Using Market
Reflex for an explanation.
CapUt% is
the percentage of the trading period duration that the capital was invested in
the stock.
NtCapGn%
is the annualized percentage capital gain.
Trades is
the number of buy or sell transactions during the calculation period.
Stop% is
the percentage of sale trades that sold as a result of a stop.
Win% is
the percentage of sale trades that resulted in a gain.
MONITORING USING TEMPLATES
A single
strategy can be used to monitor all selected stocks by choosing a strategy
template in the Monitor Options panel. Templates can be shown in the
Strategies table by clicking the Show Templates button and can then be accessed and modified just like strategies attached to stocks.
A stock strategy can be saved as a template by checking the 'as Template' checkbox on the Analyze page. The reports in Using
Market Reflex were produced using template strategies.
FILTERING MONITORING
RESULTS
When a large number of strategies are processed, there can be over a hundred buy and sell signals for the next trading day. These
signals can be quickly filtered to select specific stocks using
the strategy calculation results. For example, you could select strategies with at
least twenty trades, a winning trades percentage over sixty and profitability
over fifty percent. Additional filtering can be specified by exchange,
strategy type (custom or default), last trade signal (buy or sell) and price.
The filtering results can then be viewed in a table, report or can be printed.
Input to the filtering process can be all strategies, trade signals or selected
strategies.
