Charts
Charts provide a valuable aid to developing and confirming
strategies. The View Charts page displays three charts; a price chart and
two indicator charts. Gain related charts
are displayed on the Analyze page, and the compare chart
has its own page. These charts are from the View Charts page. Name
labels on lines have been turned on. Different background colors have
been chosen.
Chart durations from three months to ten years can be selected. The period
chosen can be daily, weekly or monthly. For longer durations, individual
chart areas can be expanded to fill the entire chart by dragging a rectangle around the
area of interest. Analysis functions can be performed on any
display selection.
A three-month daily candlestick chart is shown below. A thirteen day EMA
(exponential moving average) line has been added. Information about the
date at the vertical bar is displayed in the top information line and in the
EMA information at the top left of the chart. The price axis can be
set to a log or linear scale. See the Price
Chart image for a trade values illustration.

Chart 1 - Three-month daily Candlestick chart
A six-month MACD chart is shown below. The blue histogram bars represent
the difference between the MACD and Signal lines. The trend of the
histogram bars can be tested to possibly lead a signal crossover. Values
at the vertical bar date appear in the upper left corner.

Chart 2 - Six-month daily MACD chart
A one-year Stochastics chart is shown below. As with the MACD chart the
histogram bars can be tested for a crossover trend.

Chart 3 - One-year Stochastics chart
A six-month chart of the average number of share per trade is shown below.
This chart can be produced if your data contains the daily number of trades.
Higher values may indicate institutional rather than retail trading. Green
bars indicate an increase in the closing price; red bars indicate a decrease.
The vertical bar is black.

Chart 4 - Six-month Average Shares per Trade chart
A six-month RSI chart is shown below. The related RVI (relative volatility
index) can also be shown.
